Xactimate Has Lost Its Way – No Value, No Support I was forced to use Xactimate as a building consultant, and it’s been nothing but frustration. The new Xactimate AI adds no real value — absolutely do not subscribe. Tech support locked my account just for trying their AI feature, then canceled my prepaid annual subscription without notice. I spent hours bouncing between Tech, Billing, and Sales, only to be told I had to pay for a completely new subscription in the middle of my paid term. This company has lost its way. There’s zero regard for customer service and no accountability. They know many of us have to use this platform, and they take full advantage of that fact. I’ll be investing my time learning other platforms and encouraging other building consultants to move away from Xactimate. They’ve become too powerful and too indifferent to the people who actually use their product.

VERY frustrating! While trying to login to Xactimate this morning to try to get some work done uninterrupted on a Saturday, I was alerted without warning that our licenses needed to be renewed. This seemed like an unfortunately timed hiccup and it was aggravating that we did not receive any advanced notice of any kind, but the process to renew became even more frustrating because there is no Sales support available on a Saturday! How can you cut off the software AFTER-HOURS without any Sales support available for a major Corporate account? Again, there was no advanced notice to alert me that renewal was required - in which case, I would have gladly made arrangements in advance. Even more frustrating is the fact that I JUST spoke to someone in Sales on Thursday regarding an unrelated billing question and this was not brought up! Surely the representative that I spoke with had some visibility into the status of our account - and if not, why not?! It should be standard, customer service to take a quick look while you have someone on the phone and see if there are any issues that they may not be aware of...!!! But the BARE MINIMUM in customer service would be to have some sort of alert mechanism to your customers to let them know before the drop-dead moment that their license expires before asking them for nearly $3k!

With the amount of glitches the desktop app has it takes me longer to open the app and log in than it does to write an estimate

The new AI photo caption software is extremely buggy — do not buy it. I tried it myself, and it didn’t work on my laptop. After contacting tech support, they eventually managed to fix it, but it still won’t function properly on mobile due to the way mobile is designed. I mobile, If you sketch a room and take photos of that room with your iPad, the AI won’t generate any captions of those photos. It’s a complete waste of time. It only does photos from unassigned. Even when it did work on my laptop, the captions it produced were weak and practically useless. I paid for a one-month subscription, but by the time I got it fixed and tested, more than ten days had passed — and their policy states no refunds. After waiting on hold to speak with a manager, I was told flatly that no refund would be issued. This is typical of a program that faces no real competition in the flood industry. I would gladly use any alternative that actually works. Every user knows how many issues and workarounds we have to deal with just to stay efficient. And to make matters worse, when problems arise, they charge us to help them find and fix their own bugs. It’s embarrassing.

Too expensive, inaccurate, overly complicated, slanted toward insurance companies behalf, very poor support & customer service. The forced periodic password changes are unnecessary, time consuming and problematic which continually causes costly down time.
