I had the best experience recently with AA roadside assist. I rang to get some assistance with a puncture on my Range Rover and the driver arrived in under 15 minutes from my initial call and got onto the issue immediately. What I found really amazing was after the driver pumped up my tyre so I could drive, he escorted me to my nearest tyre shop to get a replacement tyre and made sure I arrived safely. Amazing work AA. Beyond the call of duty.

Extremely disappointing experience with AA. The service was absolutely terrible from start to finish. The call centre staff were unhelpful, and the wait times to arrange a tow were completely unreasonable. Being left stranded and waiting so long for assistance is unacceptable. Customer service was frustrating and showed little urgency or care. I expected much better from such a well-known company, but this turned out to be one of the most frustrating service experiences I’ve had. After this experience, I will definitely not be renewing or investing in AA services again. Avoid if you value prompt, reliable roadside assistance.

Absolute disgraceful. 3 & 1/2 hour wait. 4 x different staff providing different ETAs fir a tow truck. The tow truck company not being given full and relevant information by the AA Roadside Assistance guy that attended then did the order. The tow truck company also confirmed that they only received my job 1 & 1/2 hours after AA said they had ordered it. I am convinced they do this on purpose hoping you will cancel so they don’t have to pay. This is their business model. When you call their line for an update in the ETA it’s actually one of the two options - to “Cancel” the tow truck. They take your money for nothing and want you to make other arrangements.

Have been a loyal AA member for years, so especially taken aback by an unsavoury customer experience with the AA call centre. The initial 15 minute wait time stretched onto 2 hours wait time without any updates along the way, and that’s during traffic-free time in an easy to get to urban zone. The call taker was most unhelpful, and her supervisor on shift who introduced herself as Kay was arrogant and deceitful. Is it really worthwhile being a AA member? A question that will need to be answered before my next membership payment is due.

Without a doubt, one of the biggest scams in NZ. After 15 years as a paying member, we had an incident that has left more than a sour taste in the mouth. Their customer service is atrocious and they do little to assist at all. In particular, Karen from their Customer Advocacy Team is completely hopeless. We were left on the side of the road for hours in a vulnerable position because they stuffed up. When I raised a complaint, they refused to accept responsibility. When I tried to cancel our membership, they said we could do that but they would be retrospectively charging us for past towing fees. Avoid at all costs - I would advise signing up to any other roadside assistance scheme.
