Perhaps one of the worst (if not “The Worst”) Travel Insurance experience that I have encountered. Horrible service, disconnected teams, rubbish rationale (i.e. they love to get your money upfront, but discard your receipts as they do not wish to pay back). Don't even bother talking to them, unless you want to spend months trying to contest your claim. They are not worth your time.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Dishonest and will never use RACV again in my life. Will spin stories and gaslight you as the customer. Save your money, go with a budget insurer, they are not premium. They do not care.

I have been a loyal RACV customer for several years and had always trusted the company based on its public reputation. However, my first and only experience making an insurance claim has been extremely disappointing and stressful. Despite being a long-term paying customer who had never made a claim before, I was treated with an unacceptable lack of professionalism and courtesy by the claims department staff. The process has caused me significant distress and loss of confidence in RACV as an insurer. It is deeply concerning that a company of this size and history allows such poor communication and unprofessional behaviour from its employees when handling legitimate claims. I am now seriously reconsidering my membership and will be taking this matter further through formal channels if not properly addressed. In my opinion, RACV has failed to meet even the most basic standards of customer care and ethical responsibility expected from an Australian insurance company.

When calling about my car insurance I need to enter /3/8/8/2/1/1/1/4/2/ ! Are they kidding? Why not make it /3/8/8/2/1/1/1/4/2/3/8/3/2/2/1/5/4/9/ ? Obviously managers never bother calling in to see what the customers experience is like...

I applied an International Driving Permit for me and my husband to travel overseas. The online system was not smooth. After more than a week, our IDP arrived with a wrong name and place of birth for my husband. I had called and contacted by email, provided all evidence and another week, they came back and said they issued by the information from the online application and don't take any responsibility for this. Two applications lodged at the same time and they issued both under my name with different places of birth; they didn't bother to check the submitted documents they asked for. $64 is not a lot of money but RACV's attitude is quite irresponsible and arbitrary, disregarding customers. I rate them no star.
