Therma-Tru Doors is a doors, windows and security business serving Maumee, Ohio and nearby. In their own words: “Our roots go back to 1962 when David Welles, a retired Owens Corning executive, purchased a bankrupt building supply company in Toledo, Ohio. In 1983, the company launched its Fiber-Classic style, the first fiberglass door on the market, creating a product never seen before: An entryway door that looked as beautiful as wood but with exceptional performance. In 1985, we opened a 60,000 square-foot plant in Butler, Indiana. Within 10 years, we developed and introduced the Classic-Craft fiberglass door, followed a few years later by our Smooth-Star collection. In 2000, we patented our full door system.” Services include Pioneering fiberglass and steel entry door systems, Patio doors, Glass lites, Security locks, Same Day Stain Kit, Therma-Tru Replacement Parts and Where to Buy. I purchased a Veris line door for my new construction home. We moved in in November of 2025 and quickly realized something was wrong. The door leaks water and air like crazy and won’t lock appropriately. In the cold, the door freezes over and leaves ice everywhere, then melts all over our floor. I can’t image the damage it causes underneath. I began reaching out to customer service on December 29th. Customer service has been a mess and nobody from ThermaTru will take responsibility for the door. The rep from the company will not respond to me via email and would not give me a phone number because “email was the best way to contact”. I’m not sure what the next steps are to remedy outside of legal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would recommend avoiding this company given the lack of craftsmanship and bad customer service.

We have a house built in 2019. New everything of course. We have a front door and side windows made by Therma-tru. A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting doing work and there was a change in the barometric pressure with the weather. The right window spontaneously cracked from the inside. Nothing hit it. No one was near it. Just cracked. And while it didn't shatter, there's a large crack on the inside which is dangerous for my 3 young kids. Warranty or no, this shouldn't happen to a window! I called the company to give them the opportunity to remedy it because, again, this is not okay. Also, what's a couple hundred dollars to a large company to fix something that is clearly wrong with their product? I was told "Oh well. Cracking isn't covered under warranty." Again suggested that maybe they should take care of their customers and stand by their products. Was again told no. Good job guys. Way to go! Don't buy from them. Edit: see that response below? I emailed them on their website just after reading it. Zero response. Don't let that post fool you into thinking they fixed anything.

We built our house in 2008 and had nine therma-tru custom doors installed including singles, sliders and French doors. We had one door that never worked properly and would get jammed. It had been serviced twice by the builder. I contacted therma- tru about getting the parts to properly repair it since it was a safety egress issue in case of a fire. They went ahead and sent me the entire locking mechanism at no charge. I'm very impressed that they stand behind their product. I believe that they make a quality product and I'm proud to continue to support them.

I purchased a ThermaTru fiberglass door from Lowe’s and paid a lot of money for it. $4,100 with installation to be exact and the ThermaTru door is not 100% fiberglass, it has plastic inserts making a fake 5 panel door. The installers did a crap job and took shortcuts plus damaged weather stripping and installing the striker plate like amateurs. I am waiting for resolution from Lowe’s and for replacement parts and it’s been over a month. I will never buy anything from Lowe’s or ThermaTru again and want it to be known that I this is a formal complaint. I demand a new door slab for no cost or a refund. CHEAP! Poor management decisions to save a buck and cut corners.

WOW, I was surprised to see Therma-Tru Doors had such a bad Google Rating... but it actually makes sence. The finish on 1 of my 6 doors actually sees on average 4 hours of the morning sun. The finish was totally bleach out and blistered after only 5 years? Therma-Tru didn't want to discuss it as the warranty had expired. Getting ready to build another home...... I'll gladly get my doors elsewhere......
