They do not stand by their warranty. I purchased a steel door in 2020. the warranty states " We warrant the factory-applied prefinish on our doors against peeling, checking, or cracking for periods listed below" it says 10 years. Jeld-Wen is not standing by this. The paint has peeled and flaked off my door exposing the bare steel underneath. the paint did not flake off the primer they applied, rather the primer itself. the don't consider the primer they applied the "prefinish"??? the issue at hand is their primer failed and now my door is useless because the primer is flaking off in random spot and the only way to repair it is to remove the paint and primer down to bare steel. customer service is useless and very dismissive even after i showed them picture of their DEFECT! Stay away form purchasing anything from Jeld-Wen. I know i will

1-Star Review I bought a Jeld-Wen French patio door (SKU 218126) through Home Depot. It failed almost immediately after professional installation. Jeld-Wen and Home Depot replaced it (top & bottom foam seal keeps detaching, astragal has spaces/openings causing leaks and daylight intrusion). After months of back-and-forth, Jeld-Wen’s final offer is a partial refund only if I sign a broad legal release giving up all my rights. Two defective doors in less than a year. Two professional installations. Still no working door and no willingness to make it right. Jeld-Wen does not stand behind its product or its warranty. Avoid. Jeld-Wen Case #05647303

10/2/24 : All the Jeld -Wen windows that were installed when I had my home built in California started hazing after 11 years . Contacted Stephanie Barton , Customer Experience Representative in Charlotte . She arranged the warranty repair and Armando did an outstanding job taking out and installing , no damage to anything and no repainting !! . Jeld Wen has their own repair guys , no outside contractor, so know the job will be done to their Specifications . 5 STARS for this Company and especially ..Stephanie Barton 🙂

We purchased 12 Jeld Weld Windows for a new construction home last spring, in 2024. Our builder installed them in the home. Starting in July 2024, we noticed there were multiple issues with the windows. Half of them do not close. The screens when I took them out to wash the windows now will not go back in as they are the wrong size. We have made multiple phone calls to the local service rep and we never get a response. I’ve tried submitting a review on Jeld Weld Windows. Also when trying to call Jeld weld good luck! If I could give these windows negative stars I would give them -10. These are the absolute worst windows I have ever had in a home! Do not buy any Jeld Weld Windows! Do not allow any builder or construction store try to convince you that these windows are better than other brands because they definitely are not. Don’t waste your money!

So the door going from my kitchen to my basement broke in November. Since the house is over 100 years old, and I felt that alignment may have been an issue with the first installation, I special ordered a door through Home Depot and then installation for said door. The first door arrived damaged, so the order had to be canceled, the door had to be sent back, and a new order placed for a second door. It has now been almost 2 months and the second door also arrived damaged. So I have to order a third special door. When I called this company, they said that I needed to request special packaging. Really? Your packaging should ensure that your items do not arrive damaged. Normal packaging should be sufficient. I have asked for compensation from Home Depot because this should never have happened. I would not recommend this company to anyone
