Highly recommend! The team was professional, knowledgeable, and worked efficiently. They completed the job quickly, left everything clean and tidy, and the quality of the work was excellent. What really stood out was Sandy who didn’t just sell the service and disappear—she came back for site visits and a final inspection to make sure everything was completed properly and that we were happy with the result. Great customer service from start to finish.

Mangawhai - Landscape Design and Build. We had a back garden, I had an idea, my husband agreed. A casual, no fuss initial meeting and it was all go! I trusted Sandy immediately, her knowledge and clear communication influenced our decision to make bold changes to our small property. Sandy and her team made it a beautiful reality. They had vision, seeing potential when we couldn't, they were organised, professional and very much experts in their craft. Zones Rodney was a game changer, their imagination, skill, excellent communication, guidance, advocacy and industry connections made it all so easy for us. I recently worked alongside Zones Landscaping Rodney as the landscape designer for a residential project and had a very positive experience. Communication throughout the project was professional and collaborative, and the client was very happy with the design It was great working with a team that genuinely cared about delivering a quality result and ensuring the client felt supported throughout the process.

Zones did our garden, transforming it from a boring and barely used patch of grass to a glorious new deck with fire pit and some real useable space. We love the work and I can’t recommend Sandy and her team enough!

** June 2024 Update ** Zones Landscaping - Sandy & Kyle Lochhead Franchise was taken to The Small Claim Court and The Tribunal ordered them to refund us 100% of the contract value** And yes, this is also a direct reflection on Zones Landscaping Head Office who sell franchises to people who are not even required to have landscaping nor technical/building experience (refer their website) and then market these novices as experts! Background: I had an 18-meter long fence installed by Landscapes and Outdoor Living Ltd (operating as Zones Landscaping - Sandy Lockhead Franchise) in May 2023. Within just two weeks of the installation, the fence developed significant structural and alignment issues, including permanent leaning and wobbling - see photos and video. Over 4 months the franchise, including Zones head office, did not take ownership of their inferior building methodology and falsely blamed us, the customer, for their substandard specifications and workmanship. They also falsely claimed that they made alternative recommendations which we rejected prior to us approving their contractual quote. After four months of trying to resolve the matter fairly and in good faith, Zones final proposal was to rebuild the fence - at our cost, minus a 10% labour discount, which is not in accordance with the Consumer Guarantee Act. Previous proposals were either not practical nor feasible. As a result we lodged a case with the Small Claims Court for mediation based on provided correspondence, and on the following grounds of their: 1. Breach of contract: The installed fence was not of acceptable standard as it was not fit for purpose which is a deviation from our agreed-upon quote. 2. Negligence: Zones was negligent in not advising us that their proposed construction method was not optimal when we accepted the quote - they only did so once we had complained, resulting in the structural instability of the fence, which posed a potential health and safety risk. 3. Deceptive Practices: During the mediation process, Zones falsely accused us of specifically requesting fixtures and fittings that contributed to the defective installation. They also failed to advise us or give us the option to install the fence posts into the ground. Furthermore, they installed the posts into the driveway knowing that the dyna bolt method would not suffice without advising us upfront, and only later advising us that additional supports would be required - but at our cost. Based on our personal experience, we strongly advise prospective customers to think twice before entering into a contract with Zones Landscaping, due to their demonstrated poor workmanship, lack of integrity, and their refusal to take responsibility for their substandard construction methodology. Original review: I believe there are 2 Zones franchises in Rodney/ Silverdale area - we unfortunately chose the wrong one. We had a new 18m long timber fence installed down our driveway by Sandy & Kyle Locchead Rodney franchise a few months ago after responding to one of their Facebook community posts pushing $110 per linear meter. Shortly after the install the fence was leaning over (see pics) and wobbled like crazy by hand, and we were told we’d need to pay extra if wanted it more stable. After months of repetitive conversations, avoidance of the issue, and being blamed for their specifications (?!!), and also being told nothing is wrong with the fence (?!!) and that the brackets used are specifically designed for installing fences, the latest is we either pay more than double of the accepted quote amount for an ‘upgraded’ remedied version of the fence, or add a top rail to the fence at no cost to us, which we have checked with builders would actually add more weight and lean to the (unstable) fence as the issue is the posts and no concrete footings. Really disappointed by this ordeal and particularly the franchise owners negligence, deceptiveness and not taking responsibility to remedy the issue effectively, in good faith, and in a timely manner. We definitely do not recommend them.
