I can't tell you how happy I am with these fine gentlemen from Miller Waste System in Windsor. Very polite, patient, happy and eager to help. So professional and I wait for them just to say hello. They make my day! Thank you for your service

Recycling pickup has now been missed two weeks in a row, with very poor follow-up and consistency. The first time it was missed, a supervisor did reach out and arrange immediate collection. However, the following week it was missed again. I was told via email that a supervisor would contact me, but no one ever did. What’s especially frustrating is that neighbors across are getting their recycling collected, but because our bins are on the opposite side, it seems the truck does not turn back and simply forgets to return. I left the bins out hoping they would be picked up, especially over the long weekend, but recycling has now piled up with no contact or resolution. I’ve left another voicemail and am still waiting to hear back. If it’s missed again this week, it will be three weeks in a row without proper recycling service. Communication and route consistency clearly need improvement.

This company's staff has been dumping everyone's bins all over the streets of Vaughan, making a huge mess, breaking bins and causing dangerous road conditions as we need to move the bins out of the way to drive on our streets! Time to report them to the City of Vaughan as this careless behaviour has been going on for weeks!

Good morning, We are homeowners on Riverwalk Drive in Markham. We have experienced a few missed waste pickups over the past several months, which were eventually resolved. Today, however, I am writing specifically to express my appreciation regarding a recent situation and the outstanding customer service we received. On Thursday, January 15, 2026, our blue bins were not collected. When I returned home that evening, I contacted Miller Waste customer service to report the missed pickup. Unfortunately, that interaction was not a pleasant experience. I was advised to leave the bins out until 8:00 p.m., and if they were not collected, to place them out again the following morning at approximately 7:00 a.m., which I did. On Friday, January 16, around 1:00 p.m., my wife informed me that the bins had still not been collected. I called again to report the issue, but the representative I spoke with was not helpful. I requested that the matter be escalated to a shift supervisor. Later that day, when I returned home around 5:30 p.m. and saw that the bins were still out, I called customer service once more. This time, the experience was completely different. The representative who answered my call was very pleasant, professional, and empathetic. She took the time to check whether any collection crews were still in the area and placed me on hold while she explored options to assist. Remarkably, while I was still on the call, a collection truck arrived behind my vehicle. After I moved my car, the crew collected the bins. When the representative returned to the call, I informed her that the issue had been resolved and thanked her. She was genuinely pleased to hear this. I asked for her name so I could acknowledge her efforts, and she identified herself as Lidia Civello. Having worked for another municipality for over 30 years, I can honestly say that quality customer service has declined in many organizations. Often, callers’ frustrations are not fully understood, and issues are not always followed through to resolution. A courteous greeting, active listening, and genuine empathy can significantly ease a complainant’s frustration. Ms. Civello demonstrated all of these qualities, and her professionalism made a noticeable difference. She is truly deserving of recognition for her excellent customer service. Just like the previous negative reviews, these guys just don’t care anymore. They used to be so friendly, neat, and on time. They would stack the bins and leave it on the driveway. Not sure what changed, but the past two years have been brutal. Scattered and broken bins everywhere. I’m tired of going into the centre to replace my broken bins. * Update Jan 2021 * I’ve seen a positive improvement over the past few months. So updating from 1 to 3 stars and will continue to update. * Update Dec 2021 * Huge improvement over the past year. The bins are properly stacked and I haven't had a broken bin since. The pick up is waaaaay later in the evening than usual, but I suspect it's due to having to unload multiple times and/or there's been a reduction of trucks on the road. Still deserving of an update from 3 to 4 stars and will continue to update.
