Turning One-Off Customers Into Repeat Business
By TradieCorner Team · · 1 min read

Winning a brand-new customer almost always costs more — in time, marketing and quoting — than keeping one you've already done a good job for. Yet it's easy for a one-off job to stay exactly that, simply because nothing happens after the invoice is paid.
Ask before you leave, not weeks later
The best time to mention future work is while you're still on site and the job's gone well — a quick 'get in touch if you need anything else done, or know anyone who does' costs nothing and plants the idea while it's fresh.
Keep a record so you can follow up properly
- Note what work you did and when, so you know when a service or check-up might be due
- Keep contact details somewhere you'll actually find them again
- A short check-in message six or twelve months later can be enough to prompt the next job
- Ask for a review while the job is fresh in the customer's mind, not months afterward
Make it easy to refer you
Happy customers refer people naturally, but only if they can remember how to find you again. A profile they can point people to — like a listing in the TradieCorner directory — makes that referral a lot easier than trying to recall a number from memory.
